AdriPSX is one of the fastest PSX emus out there and certainly belongs to the top when it goes to compatibility. AdriPSX is a relatively new emulator which was first released in December 1999. Although it lags behind PSEmu Pro (and commercial emulators like Bleem and VGS) quite a bit, it's already able to emulate a few games . And unlike PSEmu Pro, AdriPSX is still actively developed. AdriPSX is a promising emulator. However don't expect it to run your favorite games perfect yet or even at all.
Bleem was a promising commercial Playstation emulator which first appeared in 1999. It was a relatively small emulator which could run many games pretty fast. Two versions of Bleem were available, a demo version (available below) and the full version which required a CD key to function. David vs. Goliath Because Bleem tried to commercially exploit it's Playstation emulator, it was a prime target for Sony (the creators of the Playstation) to sue. After all in Bleem's case there was an actual entity to sue (the company) whereas the authors of freeware emulators are much harder to sue because it's not always clear who "owns" freeware emulators. Bleemcast One of the last products Bleem released was Bleemcast, an emulator for the Dreamcast which allowed owners of Sega's Dreamcast to play a few popular Playstation games on it. Unfortunately the Dreamcast was abandoned by it's creator, Sega, which left Bleemcast without a system to run on. Gone the way of the Dodo Although Bleem won most of the lawsuits launched against it by Sony, Bleem lost a lot of time and money in court due to these lawsuits.

We wanted to thank you for your support and show you some screenshots from games that should work better in the next release.
PCSX2 is the first PS2 emulator that slowly showed us that PS2 emulation is possible. Today it has a large game compatibility that keeps growing with each new version. For a full compatibility list you may want to check the official site before trying to play a game. PCSX2 is a PlayStation 2 emulator for Windows and Linux, started by the same team that brought you PCSX (a Sony PlayStation 1 emulator). The PCSX2 project attempts to allow PS2 code to be executed on your computer, thus meaning you can put a PS2 DVD or CD into your computers drive, and boot it up! The project has been running for almost seven years now, and since it's initial release has grown in compatibility. From initially just being able to run a few public domain demos, it's current state enables many games to boot and actually be perfectly playable, such as the 'famous' Final Fantasy X or Devil May Cry 3. The PCSX2 project is Open Source (GPL) and keeps an active SVN (SubVersion) repository. We encourage genuine attempts to improve the code, in terms of compatibility, new features, optimization, and encourage plugin authors to write graphics, sound, cdvd, controller plugins.

PSXeven is an emulator of the PlayStation video game console for x86-based PC hardware. It was written and self coded by author and developer, Xeven. PSXeven makes use of a plugin system to emulate GPU, SPU, and CD drive functions, similar to the model first introduced in PSEmu Pro. This approach is also taken in PCSX, PCSX2, and Project64. PSXeven is freeware.
